A late-19th-century mud-brick defensive fort in Al Jahra city, 45 km west of Kuwait City, built along historic trade routes and notable as the site of the 1899 anti-slavery decree issued by Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Sabah.

A largely uninhabited island in the Persian Gulf 20 km east of Kuwait City, with Hellenistic Greek ruins, Dilmun-era antiquities, and Mesopotamian and Ottoman layers, now a nature reserve and seasonal camping destination.
