Rodney Bay

Rodney Bay is Saint Lucia's principal resort and entertainment district, centred on a large natural bay that has been developed with a full-service marina, hotel complexes, a large public beach and an extensive choice of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The bay is named after Admiral George Rodney, whose naval operations in the 18th century shaped much of the military history of northern Saint Lucia, and the modern development of the bay as a tourism hub represents a very different kind of invasion from the naval warfare that once defined this coastline.

The Rodney Bay Marina is one of the largest and best-equipped in the Eastern Caribbean, with over 230 berths and full chandlery, maintenance and provisioning services. The marina is a regular port of call for transatlantic yachts making the passage from Europe to the Caribbean and the international character of the anchorage is immediately apparent in the mix of vessels and nationalities present at any given time. The beach is popular with both resort guests and local visitors and has a lively atmosphere without being crowded in the way that some more famous Caribbean beaches can be.
