01

Why begin here

The Gardens is not simply a green pause between city stops. It is a living institution shaped by research, collections and the everyday use of its lawns, lakes and shaded paths.

A first visit works best without a checklist. Enter from one MRT side, cross slowly through the garden and leave from another; the change in trees and city sound becomes the journey.

Three chapters inside the same garden

The Rain Forest

A compact remnant of tropical forest that changes the sound and pace of the walk.

Palm Valley

Open lawn, long views and a public landscape that feels lived in rather than staged.

National Orchid Garden

A ticketed collection with its own hours, best treated as a distinct visit within the larger Gardens.
